what i love about christmas

I remember when I was little it seemed like forever until Christmas rolled around. And now, the year flies by and before I know its December. Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I love the smell of a real Christmas tree, I love the cold weather, I love the pumpkin spice coffee from Starbucks, I love sitting next to our fire pit and cooking smores, and I love gathering around my Grandma's dinning room table for more belly rolling laughs. Now its your turn, what do you love about Christmas?

In with the old

This weekend's project was antiquing the furniture in our second guest bedroom. I didn't realize how much labor goes into a project like this. First we had to sand the finish off of everything, apply a coat of antique white paint, apply a second coat of antique white paint...and now we are waiting for everything to dry.

something warm for the tummy

As a newlywed I am experimenting new recipes for my hubby. Lets just say this slowcooker is my lifesaver. What a wonderful invention!!! Pot Roast You will need 1pkg of McCormick Seasoning 3 lb rump roast 5 cups of fresh vegatables (carrots, celery, onions, and potatoes) 2 cups of water Directions 1. Place roast and vegetables in slow cooker 2. Mix Seasoning and water until blended and pour over roast and vegetables. 3. Cook for 8 hours on LOW or 4 hours on HIGH. For best results, do not remove cover during cooking...I find this hard to do!!!

Oh Christmas Tree

Although my husband and I have been together four years, this is our first Christmas together married. My Mother in-law had this ornament made for us and I love it! Our tree is up and lit! I love Christmas time!
